Gun Themes?

Psychologists, politicians and lawyers have determined that violent themes, movies, games and the like are the cause for children shooting each other in school. First Person Shooters, such a DukeNukem and Doom being the main problem. So, I try to stay away from the violent themes. And, I don't play Duke Nukem anymore. But, if they try to take my Half Life 2 away, before I finish it, I'll seriously shoot somebody.

I agree with Chas, but if they ever go after Halo for those kind of things I will have to go nuclear on them all

so im taking that as a no...

The best way to get what you want in a theme is to create it yourself honestly.

/me has DukeNukem and Wolfenstein and loves them.

Haven't shot anyone for over 30 years.

There are some Walls also.

Actually, I think there are a few cool Cursor gun themes. But, I don't use them. Too violent.

ChasUGC, and who believes them.

I've a lot of the shoot em ups and watched the killing movies on the TV, VHS and DVD's and it doesn't make me want to go shoot anyone.

Guess it depends on how you are raised, what values you have instilled in you and what country your from.

Guns can lead to a political discussion too. And everyone knows that we don't get politicial here. So, I'll just stop, laugh and move on.

Nope. Gun themes to be exact.

Natural Born Killers, Goodfellas and Scarface are some of my all-time favorite movies I think the emotional/mental state of a person has more to do with their propensity for violence than what you see in the movies, though I do believe that the violent imagery in Movies does desensitize a person to it.

Saying TV and video games are the cause for violence in youth is the most absurd, astoundingly rediculous thing I have ever in my life heard. It's bad parenting that is the real cause...not guns in a dang video game!!!

Terribly sorry to further hijack the post...but it urks me when I see people say those kinds of things.

I agree 100% Hus, but you know that certain people want to blame it on video games. I guess this way politicians don't have to take responsibility for the shape our society is taking, nor do the parents have to take responsibility. I say if your child shoots someone, you need to put the parents in jail with the kid.

Why do you think they have ratings on video games and movies? This way a kid can't play a violent game or watch a violent movie that will make him go out and kill someone.

The topic is gun themes. Nope I don't need 'em. I might go out and kill someone.

Violence on TV or games won't affect the already formed mind of an adult, but I do believe it can influence the mind of children in the process of learning the good and the bad.  Of course, nothing that a lot of parent coaching can't deconstruct, but we all know that in too many families the TV and the PlayStations have replaced the parents too busy too raise their children.

To a point, I agree with you. But, I think its more complicated than that. I played video games and watched TV throughout my childhood. But, I didn't shoot kids in school. I believe that certain moral values need to be instilled in children at a very early age. These values must be taught before they even start school(discipline, respect, love). Otherwise, they learn street values(money, power). Children today generally won't even listen to adults or their parents, they think they know it all. And society today says you can't even discipline your children. No pledge of allegiance in schools. No paddling anymore. So, who's to blame?

Military Issue weapons or knock offs of them claimed to be used as hunting rifles is moronic. and if you can not hit, wound and or kill a person when defending yourself with a handgun that has a 10 round mag you shouldn't have one in your hand to begin with

A baseball bat is an inamate object. Although You could kill someone with it also.
