Disable auto creation of folders in Start Menu

Hi,

When dragging icons around the start menu I invariably end up accidentally creating folders if I take too long trying to place a icon. There used to be a way to disable this, but i can't find it anywhere now...

There is not an option for this in ver 2 as there was in ver 1 where you had to hold the shift key to create folders. The reasoning was to make it work like the Windows 11 Start menu.

You just have to be very deliberate when moving icons, and don't release the mouse button until you are sure it is not going to create a folder. A black circle with a white plus will appear when creating folders.

I thought the whole point of the product was to make it NOT like Windows 11 :-) but thanks for your response

I agree. It would be nice to have an option to require a modifier key to create folders, even if it was only available as a registry setting.
