Make sure to catch this on Neowin at the external link. Yeah, I'm a bit skeptical but they've changed the Windows head honcho, and many articles are surfacing (like pelaird's recent taskbar repositioning post).

It would seem these changes are ready to ship. The changes will incluse not just the taskbar, but File Explorer, making it faster and more dependable, W11 launching faster, W11 update allowing skipping of updates during setup, and no forced updates when turning your PC off. Pausing updates for a month and longer with only one mandatory restart per month.

MS is removing "unnecessary Copilot entry points" in apps like Snipping Tool, Photos, Widgets, and Notepad. They're also promising less RAM inefficiency...with RAM prices soaring, I'm all for that.

Anyway, do drop by Neowi and check out the article...hope the improvements will take MS off Jafo's death list. ;)

Here’s hoping these taskbar changes don’t screw with Start11! These changes probably won’t come to the stable channel until 26H2 though.

Probably but they're hard to interpret. They made a point of saying the changes are ready to ship. That's with a 'p'. ;)

"...some of the initial changes we will preview in builds with Windows Insiders this month and throughout April."

I'll be pleasantly surprised if these changes make it to the stable channel before 26H2.
