Random generated maps

this topic comes out of frustration with single player random generated maps.

Brief overview, when you generate random maps the planets and connections between them are absolutely random. Which probably suits the good players out there who look for a challenge. The more planets are on the map the more chaotic it gets. Key planets with 5-6 lanes going to it from all sides ecc.

Sometimes i need to restart the game 20+ times just not to have 5 lanes going to my homeplanet surroundings or a wormhole next to my homeplanet itself while playing with nightmare/impossible AIs. Very often you get 100% of metal and no crystal at all or viceversa. Often this ends in closing the game and going to do something else.

I suggest at the generation step to introduce some settings.

Example:

easy start - you get one volcanic and ice planet nearby plus a couple of asteroids, all of this enclosed in "a neighbourhood" where only 2 lanes are going in/out. Easy to start, easy to defend. Wormholes are never next to your homeplanet

Normal start - same as above, but with 3 or 4 lanes instead of just 2

real life - same as it is now. Absolutely random.

besides I personally would appreciate the option to enable or disable wormholes at all.

Hey, thanks for sharing the feedback!

I will forward it to the team, but you could also create your own random map with the solar forge tool, for it to have less phase lanes :)

Hey Zabik thanks for your reply. I guess it's pretty clear that whenever you play you want to have a fresh somewhat different map. And creating it manually spoils all the surprise. For tournaments it would be ok but not for a casual game.

I wouldn't even ask if I though it was something complicated. As it seems to me it's just setting or tweaking some parameters in the tool code.

Besides i strongly believe I'm not the only one who would wish for this. I just think that i'm the most annoying one :D

Thanks again for forwarding and happy new year team!
