Staren Menu not centered after using all apps list

Hi,

Start 2.55 None enhanced toolbar on Winows 11

My start menu is like this

i.e no all apps list automatically showing.

Every time I use the all apps selector to get this;

This happens;

So the menu is now  not centered. Always done this since version 1.  But finally got completey fed up with it.

Why ? Is this expected behaviour ?

I also asked to be able to insert a line break in app names to give a centered (I'm English and that is how it's spelt !) name over two lines but that never seems to change either.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Not really sure what was your issue.

But, to have the app list appear with the pinned apps part. Please turn on this setting.

I have also seen this behavior in the Windows 10 style. Not sure why it happens, but it's a minor issue for me.

When the All Apps menu is opened, it is left justified of the Start button, and the first time opening the Start menu following the use of the All Apps menu, the Start menu is right justified of the Start button. The second time it is opened, it is centered again. The Windows 10 style appears to be the only style with this behavior.

Perhaps there is an easy fix for this.

Basj, please report this to the Dev's.

Basj, please report this to the Dev's.

Report what actually? A video might help explain the issue clearer.

Normal Start11 menu                   All Apps Menu opened      First subsequent opening after All Apps

As you can see in the first image, the normal position of the Start11 menu (Windows 10 style, centered Start button) is centered above the Start button and open apps. The second image is the All Apps menu when opened. Notice it is left justified from the Start button. The third image is the first subsequent opening of the Start11 menu. Notice that it is not centered, but right justified from the start button. Upon opening the Start11 menu again, it is centered once again as in the first image.

To replicate this: Set Start11 to the Windows 10 style with centered Start button, and turn off "Show app list in start menu." Now open the Start11 menu (image 1) and click the All Apps icon (image 2). Click the desktop, and then open the start11 menu again (image 3).

Was you referring to this?

It makes no difference if "Do not offset the menu horizontally to ensure it lines up with the start button" is turned on or off. I believe this only affects the Start11 menu if the Start button is on  the left.

It should be obvious from my post above with the images what is going on. I don't think I can explain it any clearer.

So the issue on my video is not it? Perhaps, as I request above, post a video so I can try reproduce it. And proceed to forward to Support.

I give up! I can't make it any clearer for you.

Thanks so mych for helping and I agree completely it's hard to see how it can be made any clearer.

@basj it is easy to replicate as described above, can you have a go ? That might be more helpful than asking for more clarity.

Also some form of reply to the multi line icon name, centered under the icon ?

Normal Start11 menu                   All Apps Menu opened      First subsequent opening after All Apps

I have also reproduced this with a fresh installation of version 2.55.  In the Windows 10 style with center aligned start button, after opening the All Apps menu, the next time I opened the start menu, it opened away from the previous spot and off the center.

However, after installing the current beta version and rebooting, I'm no-longer reproducing this issue.

If you're still seeing this, could you give the current beta a try?  You can find the download from your account page, here:

Please let us know if this resolves the issue on your end.
