All I can say is...if only. See the linked article for W11 2025 and abdi's other OS animations.

Abdi is famous for his graphics and animations of "If only MS let it's Art Department determine things...". But, it didn't, or hasn't and we got the mediocre pablum that we have. Worse? It prevents skinning to improve it.

Very cool! However, it's one thing to create a video with a beautiful UI, and quite another to write the code to implement the features. That being said, Microsoft should be able to accomplish this task with their wealth of human and AI resources. We shall see... *_*

I only post his works because the graphics and ideas are awesome. I absolutely agree that

If you look at where the development has been going, they seem to be implementing more features for AI, sharing, collaborating, and locating info from the past, catering to the Enterprise market. I know this is where they make their money on Windows, but that shouldn't dictate style.

I read recently that software engineers are one the least sought after skills in demand these days, and the pay is not as good as other professions. Probably why Microsoft is unable to hire good people to work on Windows. Having a monopoly on Windows use in the Enterprise market doesn't bode well for the OS style. The consumer market is left out in the cold.

At least we can still customize the OS to a certain extent to make it look and work the way we like. MS seems to be moving more towards Apple in respect to closing the system to modification.

Unless you like Oatmeal OS. Just a truly sad situation. MS has been competition driven, not innovation driven, and part of both are graphics. They missed that boat, too. It's been about 10 years of anti-MS in the tech world...and its isn't close to stopping.
