Windows behind taskbar

I'm using a WindowBlinds theme that makes the taskbar transparent with a blur filter, but i cannot get windows to show behind the taskbar. is this normal? i remember being able to see open windows behind the taskbar before, but now they kind of just disappear behind it

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Which theme are you referring? And need to know

  1. Windowblinds 10/11? And its version number?
  2. Windows 7,8,10 or 11? Also need its full version number. Use Winver.exe

Thank you.

If you are on Windows 11 and has ExplorerPatcher installed - this is a compatibility issue between WIndowBlinds11 + Start11 and ExplorerPatcher. Please, look here: https://forums.wincustomize.com/523705/page/1/#3908460 .

ExplorerPatcher kills taskbar transparency in this case because of a different way of rendering graphics on Windows 11.

The last stable working configuration is: Windows 10 + WIndowBlinds11 + Start10 + ExplorerPatcher.

I’m using WindowBlinds 11 on Windows 10 22H2 with a WindowBlinds theme titled “BetterAeroVistaX”

BetterAeroVistaX

Can't find it in Wincustomize.com. Link to the skin please.

I tested the skin, and if you want make to blur go away, you will need to go into the skin and edit it with Skinstudio. There is an option to change background effect in there.

apologies, i wasn’t clear. i’m not trying to disable the blur. i’m trying to resolve an issue where the blur is functioning correctly on my desktop, but when i move a window to where my taskbar is obscuring it, the window does not render under the taskbar,

i’m on windows 10 22H2, though i was using ExplorerPatcher.

uninstalled everything i was using to tweak my system though and the problem still persists when i’m testing it with TranslucentTB, so i’m not sure what the problem is anymore

Well I checked under my taskbar and it do render it properly. My guess it is something else causing it.

I completely agree with Basj. Right now my system is Windows 10 22H2 (build 19045.3570) + WindowBlinds11 + Start10 + OldNewExplorer + ExplorerPatcher:

No any problems. Just interesting, do you see that issue with any other semitransparent skins or with BetterAeroVistaX only?

If "Yes", try to remember if you may have made any small changes to the Windows registry. If you haven't touched the registry, I'm afraid there's something wrong with your Graphics Driver... :(
