I got PS2, Xbox, GC, and the DC. I would recommend PS2 if they have the games you like most. I'm not a fanboy of any system, but I prefer the Xbox, simply because of my preference in games. I play my PS2 as much as my Xbox. You won't loose either way.

I would say try to get both in the future (Xbox and PS2). Xbox is like $179 now. They're both great systems. Although PS2 has a much greater library, it's not like they're all above average/great games.

Xbox in the future to me is definitely getting the better games; Half Life 2, Doom 3, Halo 2, BC, Splinter Cell 2 and Jade Empire among others. Then you got PGR2, Morrowind GOTY, Rainbow 6, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and KOTOR among many others. FFX-2 for PS2 is a great game; just look at their libraries and see whats interests you more. Gamecube just doesn't really appeal to me. By the time I'm ready to throw money down for it with all these great games coming out for the other 2 systems, Xbox2 and PS3 will be launching (most likely 2005).

PS3 is expected in Fall-Winter 2004.

Besides No need to get one if you can find a Good Xbox or PS2 Emulator. I dont have PSX but Play PSX Games via Virtual Game Station like a lot of you out there...

Kona, from what I know there isn't anything solid. I mean, it's still subject to change. Expect it to be around 3GHz. And Microsoft wants to release Xbox2 side by side with the PS3.

mybe nintendo will get their haeds on straight and build a good system. >

Microsoft will be going with ATI this time around. They will also be working with IBM. Sound familiar? IBM is now involved in chip design for all three next-generation consoles.

Suggestion, if you (anyone) that haven't gotten an XBox, PS2, or GC yet. DON'T GET THEM!! Wait for "Xbox2", "PS3", or "GC2". They'll be released in a year or two. If you have waited this long, you can wait a bit longer.

Note: I haven't read most of the posts here, so I expect someone already posted something similar.

Think about it.3 inch disks? No DVD function?

So what if the discs are only 3 inches. One of the reasons they choose to use 3 inch DVDS for the GameCube is to prevent pirates form making illegal copies of GameCube games by using a DVD burner. This doesn't mean that GameCube games are smaller because games can take up more than one disc. Are you too lazy to get up and switch to disc 2 for the larger games such as Resident Evil? So what if GameCube doesn't play DVDs? It's a gaming system, not a DVD Player. Get a DVD Player if you want to play DVDs. You are just a Nintendo hater and a Mac lover without a Mac.

Gamecube has the lowest processor and graphics engine.

GameCube's Power PC processor is faster than PS2's processor and has more video memory than PS2's 4 MB of video memory. 4 MB of video memory? What was Sony thinking? Even Dreamcast had more video memory and it was released a year earlier than PS2. GameCube also has a better bus than XBOX. Gamecube's bus is like a four lane highway with cars traveling at 400 miles per hour while XBOX's bus is like a one lane highway with cars that can travel at 900 miles per hour but can rarely reach that speed with all the traffic the one lane highway has to deal with. Also GameCube uses a ATI video card which is a good choice for a video card.

sorry to break it to you but I can copy a Gamecube disk with a DVD burner. Making them smaller dosen't help.

I am not lazy.

i will get a PS2 for the simple fact that I like the Final Fantasy games and the fact of the HUGE library of award winning games.

and the processor is NOT faster than Xbox. Sorry. back your facts up.

Tech: here is another good arguement for PS2: Games ARE CHEAPER.

Maybe so, but to claim that the size of the disc is inferior technology is ridiculous when the amount of memory available for a game is unlimited via multiple volumes of discs. Up to two discs is usually as big as GameCube games have gotten and it is rare for a game to get that big.

Learn to read. I said the processor was faster than PS2's, not XBOX.

My claim was not so much the size but that fact that you can put regular music cds or DVD discs in the Gamecube make it worthless.
Much like back in 1995 when if you wanted to upgrade your compaq PC you could only get Compaq parts. Worthless.

I really dislike these little "my Nintendo is better arguements"

I left out Gamecube as a option at the begining of this thread because I knew you would do this.

I hate Nintendo.
I hate Gameboy.

Get out of the house once in awhile.

Playstation is the answer for me because I will not have to throw out my old Final Fantasy Games and I love FF 7.

End of discussion. >

So what? Want to listen to CDs? Get a CD Player or a sterio with a CD player. Want to watch movies? Get a DVD Player. I have PS2, XBOX, and GameCube and playing games is all I use them for. I have a sterio for my CDs and a DVD player for my movies.

I dislike when brainless idiots say that something sucks without looking at the facts. Notice I have not said that PS2 or XBOX sucks. They are both fine systems. I have only pointed out certain pros that GameCube has over the other two systems that many people who don't bother to look at the facts overlook.

I also hate the word sucks. It doesn't take much intelligence to say something sucks.
