Can I save the original program downloads for a re-install?

I can't be the first to ask but I'm not seeing anything on it, so excuse me for asking what is probably a not-so-informed question. I would like to save the original programs I've bought and downloaded via Stardock Central. Honest intentions, really, just want to have it in case Stardock goes away for whatever reason or if I get so broke I don't want to keep up the subscription and my computer gets sick (I think that's ok?).

Anyway I thought it would be done via the right-click "download and archive" function within Stardock Central. I've done that, and I see them downloading, but nothing's telling me where they're going and for the life of me I can't find them. I'm running the Object Desktop set on WinXP. (To add to my confusion, I just switched to XP about a week ago, right before I bought the Object D, and I'm just getting the hang of its directory structures.)

If somebody could get me pointed in the right direction I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

That was fast!

Would you believe me if I told you that directory doesn't exist? Under SDCentral I've got data, discussion, images, installed, temp and wcbrowser. I don't have a Backup directory under any of them either. Did a search on the drive for directories "backup" and didn't get any likely candidates, all pretty clearly other backups. Thought maybe you meant one big archive file named "Backup" so I did a disk search for the filename and didn't get any winners either.

Is the right-click function in Stardock Central that I'm using the right method? - It's not prompting me for any save location or anything else, but it does look like they're coming down.

OK...create the folder then go to SDC Tools/Setting/Advanced and point 'archive to' to that folder. Make sure in 'General' you have enabled 'Auto Archive'

Dave...I'm going back to bed...after you have this setup you do not have to right click anything. When you update any proggie it will auto archive to that folder before actually updating it......

Found the setting you're talking about and it wasn't set. It is now.

Created the folder and archived just one program so I could get back to you, it looks good. Thanks a lot, I appreciate it.

Guess if that folder doesn't exist it just dumps the download. Interesting bit of trivia. On the bright side, I don't feel QUITE so dense.

Oh ya, that's got it. I have files now. Always gives me that nice warm fuzzy feeling. I've been so busy lapping up the components I haven't spent enough time just plain poking around on the Central menu. Quite likely that something else handy is up in there.
