Elemental War of Magic Will Not Save

Back in 2010 I purchased the original Elemental game – War of Magic direct from Stardock.    I have not played it in some time.    However, I recently bought a new computer and decided that I would try the game again.    I logged into the Stardock site and downloaded the game.      I registered it with Stardock using the code from my account information.     However the first time I played the game I did not log in at the prompt at the bottom of the page.

I was able to play the game for a few hours.   I saved the game and came back to it today.   There were no saved games either manual or autosave to load.     So I assumed that I needed to log in for the game to save.    I tried to log in but it will not accept the same information and log me in that I used to successfully sign in to the Stardock site.

I would like to be able to save this game as it is unlikely that I could play an entire game in one session.    Please help me sort out how to correct this issue
