ObjectDock questions

2 questions.

1. I have the recycle bin on the dock but I wanna get rid of it from the desktop. How do I do that?

2. How do I add a icon on the Dock that will let me log off/restart?

Thanks,

Well I can answer the first one. If you're running Windows 98 or higher you should be able to use Active Desktop. (go to display properties and select the Web tab).

Once Active Desktop is activated your desktop icons should all disapear. But I simply do not remember, as I use Desktop X now, which has a built in function for hiding desktop icons.

Also I belive you want to just hide your recycle bin, am I right? Well my way gets rid of everything (if it works at all ). There IS a way however to go into the Registry and make your Recycle Bin disapear... but if you did that you would never be able to get it back

However, if you want these instructions for the registry mumbo jumbo, [email protected] me.

1. "Tweaks and Tools" has that option  http://www.nextgenerationtools.com/index.html

2. There are a few free apps here that you can link to from OD, that will give you access to the restart/shutdown dialog, the startmenu, the run dialog, but I haven't found one for the logoff dialog   http://www.tsoftcentral.com/tools/

click on configure dock icon>create >new shortcut....

Link = %windir%\system32\shutdown.exe
windir is your windows or winnt directory e.g. C:\Winnt\system32\shutdown.exe

ARGUMENTS....
log off = -l
restart = -r
turn off = -u

If you're using the KkMenu link to the KkMenu.exe and use the powering.ini in the arguments
