About Star Control: Origins & Fleet Battles Mode

Star Control: Origins is a science-fiction adventure game set in an open universe that places you as the captain of Earth's first interstellar vessel on a mission to find allies to help save humanity from certain annihilation. 

The beta unlocks the Fleet Battles feature, where you'll assemble ships in a fleet and engage in battle with fleets controlled by either the computer, humans via the Internet, or even friends sitting at the same PC.

You can literally design your own ships to use in combat using the Ship Crafting system, or you can download ships designed by others to play with. Ship Crafting not only allows you to decide what weapons and defenses a ship has, but allows total control of how a ship looks.

 How to get this on Steam?

 

I ran the beta program, "Installed" put in the beta code, and it was accepted.  What now?

Did you select the Beta branch in the Betas tab?

If that didn't work try restarting Steam.

So I purchased this on the original founders drive, got the steam key and all, however I don't have a beta key. The steam key itself won't let me into the beta branch (says invalid beta code when I try to activate the beta branch). So how do I get a beta key?

You could join the Discord server, get verified as a Founder and then look in the change logs channel where it states the password.

Or someone who knows it could PM it to you. But I don't know if I'm allowed to do that.

Ahh, it is posted here on the forums in the patch notes. Don't share that password with anyone else. It is for Founders' only.

So, I bought it, got my Steam key, put it in, downloaded and ran 'Star Control: Origins - Fleet Battles BETA' from my Steam library, clicked on the Install link in the Star Control tab, and it asks me for an email.

I put my email address in, check my mail, click on the link.... it says I'm now registered for 30 days.

Switch back over to the application and click continue, and... nothing. It just keeps telling me I need to check my mail and activate the link.

I've done this several times now, and it won't let me proceed. What's going on?

EDIT Nevermind, it eventually worked after about 10 tries.

Yes, you can explore planets, there are images and videos in the Founders' Vault. Please remember not to spread or talk about NDA stuff outside the Founders' area.

No problem, thanks. I never used Discord before. I finally found Star Control, but I can't post. I tried to add Frogboy as a friend since he was easy to add. Let me know if I'm doing the wrong thing. Thanks again!

The Star Control discord is restricted until we can verify the users who are joining. Once we get you verified you'll be ready to go.
