How come the cost of electronics is so high every game?

 

It seems like it is the most expensive resource pretty much EVERY GAME.

 

What is electronics used for, and what makes it price go up/down?

 

Is it just supposed to be a final high priced commodity?

 

Or does it serve some other function in the game?

It is in high demand for the robotic companies...The colony needs electronics as the colony gets more sophisticated and Offworld demand can vary for electronics.

 

If their are a couple of robotic companies, you can bank on electronics being necessary.
