Strange problem with upgrading Outposts

is there a trick to it?

Hi...

Normally to upgrade an outpost I simply move a pioneer onto it and select the upgrade option... but I have a strange case where a dwarf form a friendly  faction is sitting IN my outpost.

  • If I mouse over it with the Pioneer selected I only get the "speech bubble".
  • If I click on the outpost I get the dwarf
  • If I click a second time on the outpost the outpost itself is selected.

Here is the dwarf selected... (of you have the pioner selected it is a speech button and brings up the diplomatic chat)

As I said if I click (with out the pioneer selected it selected the Dwarf... but if I click a second time it select the outpost proper.

Any idea what do to there?

You can't do anything about it, but wait and hope the unit will leave of its own accord.

In a dev stream Scott himself said that he hates it when allied units blocks roads and outposts, and are hanging around your cities blocking you. So they are aware of the problem, but when a fix will be forthcoming i have no idea.

I think I may have asked that question during that stream. From what I recall it didn't even sound like they were planning to fix that at the time. More like they were taking it under consideration. So not to say they won't, but it certainly didn't sound like something that made any formal fix list. :(

edit: LOL, just as I say this I now see a changelog (the same minute I posted!) for an opt-in patch that looks to maybe fix this!

Hey DCvM!  Could you do me a solid and email your save-game to [email protected]?  I want to make sure our latest code fixes these kinds of issues!

Thanks!

Edit: Yeah, this should be fixed in 1.5...if you want to update the the Opt-In I'd love to hear if it fixed your problem with stubborn Minor units getting in your way :)

I'm sorry, but I just kind of kept playing and at one point he moved out so I very quickly sent a unit to go stand there and put in guard mode... I do not have a save with this problem actually happening any more, so I suspect it would come up again.

I'm glad this is fixed in the patch, though I think I will personally wait for the release version, I'm not a huge fan of running beta stuff! : )

Thanks for al the help guys!
