Ashes: Introduce yourself!

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the Ashes of the Singularity community. Please introduce yourself.

I'll start:

I'm Brad Wardell. I'm the founder of Stardock.  I started the company back in 1991 (25 years ago) while a college student to pay for my EE degree.  Over the past couple decades I've written and/or produced a lot of software and games.

Ashes of the Singularity is a game I've been wanting to see us make for many many years but we lacked the technology to do it.

We're so glad you're here!

Over the coming years, you'll see Ashes of the Singularity continue to evolve based on your feedback and I look forward to talking about ways we can build up the community.

"My Name is Steven, and i'm addicted. Addicted to Ashes of the Singularity"

I live at Stuttgart, South Germany. I'm 32 years old and also playing RTS since dune. I loved Dune and C&C so much - really miss it. Oh and i loved Syndicate! (the original from 1993 by Bullfrog). I'm still waiting for a HD Remake or a completely new Version but hope dies last :P but i'm sure EA will not bring it. To less Profit for These stock Company.

I sell new cars at my Job. Next week hopefully i will finish my motorcycle Drivers license. Yehaw :) (Yes, in real life! Not in Road Rash or MotoGP!)
Ashes of the Singularity is the RTS Game with the biggest potential for me and i love to see it growing!
It's really motivating to see your improvements every months.

If i criticize anything it should just a help for you to improve the game. Hopefully sometimes it do.
But i know there are a lot of different wishes and opinions.

I hope my english skills does not make your Job unnecessary hard :P

Hello,

my name is Paul and I am 28. I am from germany and I live in Darmstadt. In the past I worked as an electrician in Bavaria. Currently I make my M.Sc. in physics with a focus to optics.

In the past I loved playing SC:Broodwar but the new one is too fast for my fingers. I prefer the more strategic part in ashes without depending so brutal on reaction time and clicking speed.

Maybe try my youtube channel : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn5vKaoNZjaGeRNBoQHkXhw

Hello,

My name is Danail. I am from Bulgaria. 26 years old. I work as process engineer. I do sports - cycling, running and read (listen to) audiobooks - fantasy & work related.
I have played many strategy games and mostly enjoy such with interesting economy models. Had a few years of serious Starcraft 2 gaming but the game lost me with continuously increasing value of fast fingers over brains.

Greetings,

I am Nicholas Olsen and I am 28 and live in Denmark. I am currently studying and about to finish my first semester of my bachelor degree in software development. I have been interested in RTS games since red alert and warcraft 2, and expanded that to 4x type games.

Ashes is really interesting tech wise and very curious to see how it will improve over time. I also like ashes for its more strategic aspect of gameplay,

Hello all!

My name is Charlie.  I cut my teeth in RTS with Dune and by Dune 2 my brothers and father loved RTS games from there out.

I started out working with computer hardware and programming on the side, then tested the waters in the movie theatre world, and finally found myself enjoying the events/hotel/convention industry.  I love putting together LAN parties whenever I have spare time.

I love details and functionality.  Customization is something I strongly feel a lot of games can gain amazing results from, especially for those power single player vs AI gamers!

Having some key aspects of ADHD with a strong lean towards Hyperfocus makes for some serious concentration mid-game, as well as finding those little details that need sorted out.  Love it and use it all the time!  Works great in the events world when working on a project!

Ashes fits what I've been looking for a long time out.  I was very excited when I first learned of it, and still am excited with every patch/DLC that comes out.  I am proud to be able to help shape it's future!

A lot of health issues from that :) Oh well, I get to game a lot now :) I got started on RTS games back a few years ago playing Battlezone 2 and Army Men RTS. Oh and Airmech. Picked up AOTS with a new CPU purchase. I really like the game... So does my wife... If I could stopped getting owned by the AI :( it would be so much more fun... I'm a lucky guy, married 25 years, the wife games with me every night. We play Elder Scrolls Online a lot. Hello - My name is Taylor. I am an engineer from the USA. I work on cool stuff, and I love it. My passions are varied, from music to home improvement to ashes of the singularity!

Presently I am working on my MSEE in my spare time and Ashes is the only game I play. My RTS game love is rooted in my love of Chess ( I still dabble as a competitive player, but not while working on a Masters degree. ). My first RTS was command and conquer generals, and I have been looking for a new game for awhile now. I am happy to say I have found it!

What I love about Ashes is that while the strategy is infinitely deep there is no brutal learning curve like there is with something like Starcraft. Ashes is more like a chess game and that really appeals to me. Hope to see you all out there.
