lets talk logistics

Well, I don't know if it botheres anyone else besides me but i don't like the concept of the logistics arrays.

not just that they seem rather expensive but they also add another layer of micromanagement. Which would be OKish maybe somehow i don't know...right now the scale of battle isnt that big, so it is manageable, but yeah... mostly annoying.

But i'm curious as to how you imagine we manage THOUSANDS of units while also having to deal with this kind of unnecessary stuff.

I just really have to ask myself one thing right now: what would i do if supreme commander suddenly had me manage logistics as well?

 - I would cry...

....

...

...then uninstall.

because god damn! there is already so much to micro in SCFA. Which is funny cause basically you just spam mass and power, but producing enough units and utilizing them while building defenses is just so complex that it will fully utilize your brain capazit.

I'm bringing this up cause you aspire to be as good a rts as SCFA and this is what you should focus on in my opinion.

But I'm just one person I don't know how others feel about it but, I basically quit games like SC II, Etherium etc. because of how annoying things like this are.

The game wouldn't lose a single shred of quality if we removed logistics arrays but it would allow for more micro/ timeresource in the direct combat and army raising department.
I know one could argue that logistics are part of managing and raising an army and he would technically be right too, but I think sometimes the focus should be more on fun aspects and not just realism.

So what you are encouraging is people sending in armies zoomed out to the max while then hopping back to base to build more logistics arrays and units instead of staying focused on the battle. it is natively counterproductive to the hotkey unit build feature you already have in play - you shoudl really think this over.

so the TLDR:
Logistics array just adds an unnecessary complexity to the game that will draw attention and (not just brain)resources away from fun aspects of the game - combat.

much love <3

Yep and  there are many posts that talk about it, you should check them out with the Dev's answering some of them.

I see your point on the array. Now that they give 100 it seems much easier to justify them rather than when they were 10 points. Compared to other RTS some games have and don't have the logistics and considering how many units will eventually be on the map the Logistic array seems to serve two purposes:

1 it adds micro demand on the player

2. Drains power

I'm not really sure where I sit on the array being in the game. It's annoying having to build them constantly to keep up with my armies but without them I have so much freaking power lying around I might as well build a great wall of smarty systems (if they could actually defend).
