Help finding unit after battle?

A battle starts because an enemy engages my unit somewhere on the map. 

Then after the battle I don't know which unit on the map just got attacked. 

I was just watching the beta 5 video and same thing happened - he was in a battle and then afterwords couldn't find his unit on the map. 

If you like to use the same unit type as a 'watchguard' and place them various places on the map it's impossible to tell which one was just in a battle.
