I'M BACK!!!!!

YEAH! I'M BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN!!!!!!

 The_Peoples_Party is back!!

Maybe you don't remember me but I certainly remember a lot of you.  My last post was on Sep 29, 2010 6:26 AM and my last login was on Oct 04, 2010 7:26 AM (my mom's birthday, interesting coincidence, hmmm I don't know if I put much into that).

A lot can happen in a single person's life from Sep 29, 2010 until Feb 05, 2014 1:45 PM.  Let me just walk down some of the people who I fondly remember (this will be a short post, I'm currently on the corporate dime :-) Yeah, but you need take a break from looking at the computer and smashing statistics!).  But first, let me go about what happened during that lapse and how I came back here!

First, the long lapse (I know I wonder, whatever happened to that person.  I would pray for them when they would come to my mind) well you hear the statement life just happens, right?  It is very clichish and I'm not that cliche type of person. When I started using Joe User in 2008, I just came back from living and working overseas.  Spent almost 3 years overseas and I came back because both of my parents health weren't all that good.  Around that the time of my last post and login, my desktop died.  Before all that, I was coming home from work or even before leaving for work to go check and take care of my parents.  My mom was fine just like depressed/burnt out (and suffering from some issues due to smoking) from having to take care of my dad.  My dad, I had to take care of.  Eventually it got to the point that I would be at my own place and I wouldn't want to go deal with any of that. Even though, I didn't have the best of relationship with them before coming back, but I knew I just couldn't sit and do nothing.  I made the decision to move back in with them because it would make it easier on me back in early 2009 (this was a very difficult transition after leaving on my own for so long).  Then in the fall 2010, I was stuck in a go no where job when I had a degree in Stats and had done some post grad work and the stress of having to take care of your parents.  Something had to break, well something did, my mom's hip.  I didn't believe her at first because in October 2010 I told them (mostly my mom) that I was planning on moving out and after the new year I would be out.  I was burnt out and then bam, the hip.  Needless, to say I called my siblings and told them I could not take care of both my parents any more and told them about my mom's hip and her not wanting to go to the hospital (she was using a crutch for quite some time).

Now fast forward to current, I received an email stating that I had money in my paypal account and that the State that I lived in required paypal to get a hold of me since it has been inactive for more than 5 years.  I hadn't used it since before I came back from overseas (I was thinking to myself that there couldn't be more than $10 and there was by 44 cents).  That's when I thought why not check old emails and that's when I remembered Joe User, but could not remember my password.

Needless to say I retrieved it from one of those old emails.  After all that, to the what really is important about blogs, the people!  How I fondly remember some people.  When I first came to JoeUser, there was an article stating that the United States should stop supporting Israel.  I had to comment on that and that's when I met 2 people immediately.  Dr. Guy and KFC.  Dr. Guy had such a witty sense of humor, I knew we'd get along (plus similar political thoughts) and KFC (who was a strong follower of Jesus as I am something very important to me).  Obviously, with an Israel article (especially one being anti-Israel), you'd be hard pressed not to find, Leauki.  Leauki and I hit it off real well (we both being Jewish, the difference is I'm a follower of Jesus.  I believe Leauki was Reformed and raised Orthodox).  I really enjoyed Leauki desire to find the truth and to get down to the nitty gritty (Leauki, that's a Yank's term from accross the pond) Then there was Nitro Cruiser and Island Dog, I remember the three of us would drive several people up the wall together (can't remember who maybe King Bee).  Then I had converations with Daiwa, who I believe was in the medical field.  Then I remember having conversations about religion with Anthony_R and CharlesCS.  I can remember stuff ,but think it was personal.  Lulapilgrim, well we discussed Jesus, she just see HIM through the frames of catholicism.  We had some pretty heated debates (her and KFC had some and then her and Leauki.  Then whenever those debates were going the ones not involved would pepper in on the debate).

Then who can forget the stories told by both Big Fat Daddy (yeah all his military stories and the occasional recipe here and there.  Us talking about the poor design of Colorado Springs which lead him to write a post about floods.  I believe he had a crazy story about twinkies or ding dongs) and MasonM.  MasonM would give you the Trucker's perspective on life and what he see's on the road.  I remember, MasonM, you telling a story about how you thought you saw ghost at a hotel and that there must be a logical explanation which was that it was only a mirror and how some guy almost into a fight oh wait you did get in fight with him because you were crocheting.  Then how I was about to bring you Thanksgiving dinner because you were on the road near me and just didn't feel like doing anything.  That's when you were went some where and had great time.  I hope you really did!  I see that you are quiting smoking!  WHAAAAAAAAAAT!!!!!!! No more pipes!  Wow!  You go MasonM.  Those two should write a book (together! Oh my can the insanity be contained!), speaking of books, Leauki, how's it coming?

To everyone, thanks for the memories.  No I'm not leaving, I have to get back to work!  If I forgot you, my apologies, please remind me, of you by posting.  Please post updates, memories and how life is going. Hopefully build more!

Looking forward to hearing from you all! Sorry for the super long post.

Good to see you back.  Daiwa is probably the most active here now.  I check in occasionally (once a week or so). But most of the others have slipped by the wayside.  I do not remember when the last time I heard from Charles, KFC or Nitro.  Leauki is now in Switzerland after bouncing around a while. He pops in on occasion as well.

Island Dog being a moderator is of course always around.  And BFD seems to have disappeared.  He was posting regularly up to about 6 months ago.  No word on him, or from his children (almost all who have accounts here).

Sorry to hear about your parents.  back around the time you joined, my mother had a lung removed.  She is fine!  For being 80.  But my brother and I made the mistake of getting her a computer.  While she worked on big iron all her life, she never had a PC before then.  And so I get calls where she rants on them incessantly! Because they do not do what she thinks they should do.  I am thinking of getting an unlisted number.

And of course in the political world, nothing has changed.  Biden is still a buffoon, Obama a liar, and democrats still trying to make everyone equally poor.

But as you have a degree (and hopefully) a job in Stats, my new passion is Climate Change.  I have been studying up on it.  Unfortunately the thread here at JU was hijacked by a bunch of sheep, so I long ago quit reading it as there is nothing new in there.  Basically they were relegated to ad hominems and slurs because whenever you presented them with facts, they did their best imitation of a spoiled child.

So I have moved on, just occasionally checking in here.  It has been awhile since I posted an article, instead relying on others to post and I just comment.  I most frequently visit JudithCurry, WUWT, Suyts, and Joanne Nova.  Lots of climate stuff and lots of political stuff, but with the occasional petulant troll thrown in for amusement.

Good to see you back, though sorry to hear of your parents' struggles, not to mention yours.

Dr. Guy and I still linger/lurk around here but most of the folks active that far back have moved on.  Seems a big exodus occurred after Bush's re-election in 2004.  It was really hot & heavy here, on a variety of topics - not just politics, prior to that.  Leauki re-appeared for a short time but hasn't posted much since Colorado lost out to Switzerland in the battle for his charms.  Anthony still pops in but infrequently.  King Bee was a hoot and I miss him.  One you didn't mention but that I also miss is Larry Kuperman.  There are more I've failed to recall/mention who made this such an interesting place at one time.

Life moves on and leans forward.
