There is a typo when you are given the option to recruit Raza the Wild. It says, "It is better to be a dog in the farmer's house, than the wolf staving in the wilderness."

It is probably a typo but


staving is a form of:
stave

verb /stāv/ 
staved, past participle; staved, past tense; staves, 3rd person singular present; staving, present participle; stove, past participle; stove, past tense

  • Break something by forcing it inward or piercing it roughly
