Fallen Enchantress Nexus mod site now ready!

imageOur friends at Nexus Mods have set up a Fallen Enchantress mod site.  It’s pretty awesome I must confess.

It’s already getting filled up with some excellent mods.

You can get to it here:

http://fallenenchantress.nexusmods.com/

As a reminder:

  1. Save a backup of your \english directory (it’s the <game>\data\english directory) before getting too crazy with mods
  2. Make sure you turn on “use mods” in the options screen
  3. Have fun!

I’ve already seen mods that add in some crazy new races, cool new weapons (cross bows, etc.), higher resolution screens.

Over the coming months, we plan to put a lot of time working with modders to make it easier and more robust to create more world changing mods.

Anyway, visit: http://fallenenchantress.nexusmods.com/ to check out the mods.

I look forward to see what you bring to the table for modders. Plus, I like the pic above ;) looks good.

I await that with eagerness.  Good luck!

Awesome news.  They only host games that can be modded and are excellent games. Of course we already knew that FE falls into that category, but this is a great pat on Stardock's back.

Guys, if you want a mod made to your specifications...?   Learn how to mod, and make it.  It's not callous, it's just reality.  The people who have developed the skills are already working on their own mods.  If it's just a small gameplay tweak you might get someone to do it or at least tell you how, but if it's a major change your best bet is to learn the ropes, then do it up just as you'd like.

I've done that with my mods for other games.  They were time-consuming, so I asked questions, and stumbled forward.  Finished, posted, and use them.

Alternatively, wait around until Brad's team develops the modding tools so you can avoid XML.  Shouldn't be more than a few months.  On the other hand, learning how XML is used in FE is probably a good idea, in any case.

Is anyone working on a balance mod for champ traits, spells, and faction traits?

I've been taking a break from FE until some of these things are ironed out. Just curious if anyone is on the case.

Um, you have played MA right? Balances all that stuff. It's even ridiculously easy on the lowest settings if that is your thing.

Does modding scrap the original game or can you have a mod and the original game installed side by side.

Some mods go into installation directory, some mods go into a special /mods/ folder, some mods do both.
