sounds like one of those ie /toolbar/isp/connection issues.

I am using an adsl2 line with actual wires between my computers and the proxy/modem.

if you are using wireless (either in your networking OR internet connection), this might be the cause.

I also have seen toolbars in browsers cause this sort of issue also, and the toolbars tend to set themselves to start up atleast 3 times in the system startup, which means you have atleast 3 copies of the toolbar running at all times, this is WHY I remove ALL toolbars other than the antivirus one.

Thanks! I somehow got it downloaded, and it appears to be signficantly outdated, however, unless I am reading many things wrong.

Is it the case that there are still multiple element spells in LH? I liked that in FE, but unless I am remembering something wrong, most of the spells I see there have become single-element spells (such as Gentle Rain, for instance). Most of the details seemed to have been long since tweaked and changed. Is there an update somewhere else?

I have not seen a multi-element spell in LH, and I have not seen any later versions of the spellbooks either, unfortunately

That's too bad. I'd really like to see one, especially since so much seems to have changed.

I think it would also really help the Stardock cause to demonstrate as much as possible that LH really is a different game than FE was. Keeping so much residue from the old manual and the identical spellbook gives a different sense.
