Simple Yes Or No Poll - Multiplayer

Simple Yes Or No Poll - Multiplayer

I have read random people stating the amount of people wanting multiplayer is probably around 1% and although a lot of people who are very pro multiplayer, no longer frequent the forum often anymore, im curious.

If Elemental had a true stable Multiplayer with all the single player bells and whistles, would you want that, simple Yes or No.

Yes.

If they implement Hotseat, I might play it once with a buddy, but in general, No.

Same here. Multi is not important for me, but I could try if it is brilliant

Yes. It's not crucial to me, I'd still stick to single player mostly.. but I'd at least try out multiplayer if it had all the single player features.

Multiplayer without tactical combat or quests or anything else that makes Elemental what it is, is not something I'm interested in at all.

Hotseat and/or pbem would also make it much easier for me to get into MP and maybe even get some friends to try it, these are mandatory to make MP really shine in a slow-paced TBS I think. Of course tactical combat doesn't really mesh with pbem, but missing tactical battles can be a worthwhile tradeoff for the convenience of pbem - we need the option to play it either way.

Really more options is what Elemental MP needs the most. There's nothing wrong with a stripped-down version meant to be played quickly and competitively (not something I'd really want to do, but I'm sure some would) - just give us the choice whether we want that or the full experience, whether we want tactical battles or not, whether we want pbem or not, etc.

just the same as single player - yes (I've got my father, brother, cousin, and 2 friends now as one died recently that have played Genghis Khan, nubongas ambition, romance of the three kingdoms, fantasy empires, age of wonders shadow magic, master of magic, kohan II, & others throughout the years and don't understand why this game would be any different when it comes to multiplayer)

edit: oh and hotseat too is a must

Yes, if they have the correct types. If it has LAN or Hotseat, then some. If it has PBEM, then alot.

And I expect it to be like Single player, only without TC in PBEM.

You do understand that an online poll on this website is going to be biased in favor of multiplayer.  That said, I also have no interest in it, and won't play it.

(What I mean by the bias, is that the sort of people who are active on a forum like this are going to be the sort who are more likely to play multiplayer, and the ones who never connect are the ones more likely to play single player.)

No.

No - Might've been a better idea to do it as an actual poll though, as opposed to typing the answer...

Online Multiplayer: NO

Hotseat Multiplayer: YES

(But I want hotseat because I want the ability to play two factions at once, or to do game mechanics research.)

I'd say Yes.

I wouldn't use it and would rather they not divert resources from fixes/enhancements.

Here's the thing, I want absolutley no compromises made to the single player game to be made to make the MP workable.  If I ever have to hear, "We had to leave such and such feature out becasue it did not work properly in MP play" I will throw down a nerd rage rant of epic proportions.

I want a great single player game. I barely have time for that much less MP these days.

Not really.

I have to add something.

Online Multiplayer = Not really

HotSeat Multiplayer = That would be fantastic.

HotSeat is such a great form of playing together (TBS Games).

But doesn't everyone have some sort of a LAN these days?

An so would those that want MP. They do not want a stripted down game, they want a full robust MP game that is like Single Player.

We all want a game that is fun, some just want to be able to share it with others.
