game crashes with dx error, and other minor bugs

Hi everybody.

I'm still learning the ropes, but the game seems to crash every once in a while with the following error.

Fatal error

DX Error: Invalid call

Everything else is in ordnung = hardware is rock solid, no other problems of any kind with any other software.

I used to know my hw configuration by heart, but I guess ones capability to remember things recedes with the hairline.

My display card seems to be Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT and I'm running some sort of Intel based platform with Windows 7.

I've had two crashes in about an hour and plus. So for time being, it is mostly an inconvenience.

The same case. Windows 7, too, Nvidia 8600. Crash in around five minutes of game. Every game.

Please open your debug.err file in notepad, and link the contents into a post here via pastebin. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem.

The file can be found in My Documents\My Games\Elemental

Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug log will be erased and recreated for the new session.

Here you go.

I know nothing about programming, but this line bothers me:

DebugMessage:  Unallocated Mem: 1404 bytes of memory from line 222 of E:\Elemental\Kumquat3D\Source\AStarManager.cpp

Why does the errlog refer to that particular drive and directory?

I've also noticed a new (graphics?) bug concerning the minimap, but I don't know if it has been posted yet. I'll get back on that one later.

Location in the source project. Has nothing to do with your machine.

I think the error is caused when alt+tabbing to windows. I'm not sure if it's the amount of time when the game window isn't active or the number of alt+tabs all together.

edit: Here is another one, I hope it helps.

Here are some other bugs I've noticed.

I tried to search in advance to see if they were already posted or not.

1.

The mouse pointer is shown as  an X and curvy dashed(movement) line in stat screen after battle http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/5576/embug02.jpg  I guess it should be a actual pointer of some sort.

2.

I found this little city in campaign mode http://img832.imageshack.us/i/embug03.jpg/ but why did my capital changed it's name? http://img525.imageshack.us/i/embug04.jpg/ Hopefully I can comfort myself with the fact that my Xodithro is bigger than theirs

3.

There is no text popping up on the next icon right from attack unit. http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/9238/embug05.jpg
