Canon MP560 printer

It's funny.

My printer is out of ink, and it will take around $90 to replace all the cartridges. For the same cost I can buy a totally new printer, with at least one feature mine lacks (WiFi).

I wonder how eco-friendly these printer manufactures are, when they charge more for 7 ink cartridges than for a new printer (including the exact same ink cartridges).

I think Congress should be trying for a Computer Printer Reform bill.

you should note that finding ink is somewhat difficult, as Canon doesn't specifically print the ink labels for the MP560.

The cartridge is the same as the 540 though.

Might look into one and replace the POS HP C4180 I got now.... it drinks ink faster than old dishwater going down the plug hole...

HP gotta be putting less in the ink tanks than they did 4 - 5 years ago, and at around $42 AUD a pop for a black/colour twin pack every 6 -8 weeks it's not cheap to run.

Would never buy a HP printer again, so if this Canon MP560 is economical on ink I'll give one a try.

The problem is that when it comes to colors, they are used at differential rates yet sold together. No way around that. 

Great price and the reviews seem mostly positive. The only thing I don't care for is the lack of auto-feeder (for scanner/copier) and FAX.

Doc the literature on the Amazon link Brad provided, seemed to indicate separate color tanks. The first mention makes it sound like it's one tank for the colors, but if you scroll down it mentions the tanks individually. I don't care for those all color in one tank cartridges either, too wasteful.

I'm not sure how folks feel about third party ink cartridges. I've been using an online store, for the last ten years, called Carrot Ink. I've never had an issue, great service, colors are nice and long lasting and way cheaper than OEM ink. They have a wide selection. For example we'll take the printer in this article, A black PGI-220 is $7.95, while an OEM is $14.85. I purchased one two weeks ago and very happy with it. Quite surprised actually at how good it prints pictures. I have been to two different BesyBuys and both had the ink. The cartridges are seperate.
