Windows-ed GalCiv

[Begin Explanation]
There have been questions/answers to this preplexing question throughout different posts... I've just gone bug-eyed trying to figure it out.

I also can't seem to locate a v1.04 changes log :( which kinda explained prerequisites etc..
[End Explanation]

Couple of questions I could use help on please...

1) Does windows version mean that it will be in a resizable window as oppossed to a full screen application?

2) what are the requirements for this?

I have tried putting the 'w' in the shortcut, and the Startegy First and Stardock logos appear in a small window, but then the game menu comes up in full screen.

ANY help would be much appreciated!!! thanks! :d

1. No, simply means that if you are running at a higher resolution than 1024x768 (the game size) then it will be in a window (still at 1024x768) as opposed to consuming the entire screen.

2. Must be running higher resolution than 1024x768 and be 16bit color (I think).

well, you can run it in 1024 x 768 but it'll still look fullscreen then.

Ahhhh....16 bit color. Apparently my 1600X1200 @ 32 bit is no bueno for the windowed version.

I have a problem with windows mode: I'm running XP, which may be the problem.
Basicaly, I put the "w" in the command line, and it opens what appears to be a flashplayer window, which sits there being white. :/

I've got and installed the most recent update from stardock, and my current resolution is 1280 by 1024. I get the same problem in 32 and 16 bit colour. Any ideas?

Make sure that the shortcut isn't pointing to the flash menu.  It has to point directly at the galciv.exe file.
