Installation and updates through Impulse

so i guess I'm the only one with this drama,sad really.

Nick...sometimes it's your LAN ... I've not run into that with mine. (knock on wood). You can open a ticket with SD support and get valuable ideas from them...give it a shot. What do you have to lose?

thanks DrJBHL will try that and see what happens,i'm using avira avp by the way and i've allowed impulse through the firewall and such.

Maybe it's allowed through the firewall...but the avira avp might be "inspecting" everything as it downloads and slowing things down that way, Nick.

thats the funny thing,some of the other apps went ok and the other i'd to use the public version just to get them up.

some of the programs download and update fine but some don't e.g IP,I've disable firewall plus my anti-virus just to be certain but no luck,I've tried my 2 lan port plus have the latest driver for it still no luck.

and as i said "what makes if funny" is that it would show my download speed when updating at 440kbs,i've been doing the icon packager update for hours starting yesterday(on and off) and it at 11.5%  

i still have the problem.

honestly to god,many things in life wont get me upset and its funny that this does.

as i wrote above i've exit my anti-virus/no firewall to see if that was the issue,i've tried SDC but it keeps telling me my account have expired,i've tried the public version iconpacker which is the one i need the most,all FAILED.

thanks again to DrJBHL and Hankers for the help all went well and icon packager is now install.

now there is a different problem ,everytime i try to change my icons manually e.g my harddrive icons i've gotten a "Error:Failed to load common .dll file".

i've uninstalled and install again,is there away i can get that dll file or is there another way to solve this.

Nick...I hate to say it but SD support is the route to go, I think. That's what I'd do.

what i did was i install the 4.20 public IP over the 4.21 then all was ok and i've even updated back to 4.21,thanks again.
