Why are so many people getting banned?

It seems as of late alot of people are getting banned lately, to be honest i dont think people should be banned unless they are cheating/exploiting the game. I certainly hope people arent being banned because of their discompfort with the game. Just cuz they are mad about the game and complain about it certainly isnt worth banning them from the game. Ban them from the forums if u hate hearing their mouth, squelch them in chat if they bother u in game. But banning...plz

im curious what you think is "alot" because as far as i know there have been MAYBE a handfull of ppl who have been banned, and personally i like what brad did. im sick of these 14 year olds who think they can badmouth a company just because they paid money for the game.to many ppl who think they are entitled to crap just because they paid for a game its sickening. and to top it off they act like they know more about your game than you do, 90% of ppl like chao dont realize how much work goes into JUST making the character models let alone the whole game. i have been trying to teach myself not to say any game sucks because most if not all the games out there are better than anything i could do.

second of all if you think a handfull of ppl is alot then you would have had a heart attack when blizzard did their wc3/d2 bans, i did nothing but lawl.

Hmm, who got banned? One guy for trolling all the time and he wanted a refund anyway and Fogboy gave him one.

a customer being unhappy with their product and making a point about is valid and not banworthy by any means.

i think some people need to put down the banhammer

The people that were banned (I personally, only know of one) rightfully deserved to be. They weren't banned because they were unhappy with the game and bitching, they were banned because they were complete trolls. Read the other threads and see for yourself.

Tiny, there's a difference between having a valid point, and being a troll about it.

I'm pro ban.  In fact I would say I'm pro IP and payment ban to help keep the community clean in the future.

Same reason that Stardock reps have been eating so many babies lately, I imagine.

I'm not going to post any evidence of those babies being eaten, of course but rest assured, many an infant has been devoured.

i know how many frogboy bandwagons their out there bro, i read all the posts

and i saw all the trolling that was done, Trolling is easy to deal with u can not let them post on the forums,

but to not allow them to play the game because they were unahppy...lol

i ALSO know someone who was banned, who was a good player and was a decently cool guy

made a comment about how lame certain parts of this game are and boom banned...

that sounds really...really...fair...

if it were up to you guys id probably be banned just for saying this

I say they should ban everyone.  Except me, of course.  I feel more comfortable when I'm the only one online.

He got refunded.

Why does he just buy the game again?

let a moderator deal with this in private. airing dirty laundry in public is bad form.

I agree.

And, I think it's a good idea to banned their credit cards so they can't come by. I mean, if they were THAT unhappy about the product to keep demanding refunds and bitching.. then where's the problem?

The guy that I am specifically thinking about never actually demanded the refund....

You do know that the guy who was trolling around and got banned specifically stated that he wanted a refund, right? He wasn't playing the game anymore.

As for the other bans, well, you'll have to provide evidence for them actually ocurring. Word of mouth can't exactly be trusted.

I agree 100% banning someone for calling you out on something is a bad move. It shows you want to remove anyone that doesn't agree with what you are doing, but still plays the game. I played with warskullx every night many times since beta 2 in december. This is a bold move and doesn't look very good. It just seems any non-bandwagon member can't voice their opinion a game they play everyday.

Tiny can you be specific? Someone from your Tournament team?

Because, WarskullX, one of our teammates just got banned for... constructive criticism. There's a thread up about refunds, he posted on-topic with his opinion, in his usual professional demeanor, and got "refunded" out of the game.

If you look at his posts he's one of the most constructive participants on this forum - like the recent thread about helm balancing in multiplayer. Nothing but professionalism and objective contribution. We also played together since buying the game in beta, on an almost daily basis especially in the past few weeks as connection improved.

We also entered a player run tournament and are scheduling a match for Saturday - which is now in limbo since we can't just replace our friend with someone else at such short notice and with little to no practice time left.

I don't understand how this can happen - he didn't ask for a refund and the account had value in stats and unlocks.

That's not something he can replace by just buying the game, not to mention the insult of the experience.

This is really ugly stuff, and should definitely not be swept under the rug!

flames of war is nessecary    loss of life makes people be thankful there alive and respect the dea  also  makes less people to  feed if they died

if there was no wars  then we would proberly be in the 20 billion  people   at this time meanign  not enough food  and most people would die of starvation

im not saying it is a good thing  but it is a needed thing

Tenet and Rino: Tiny is referring to Warskull's latest ban.

This is really the only official game board I've been a member of that wasn't heavily moderated. Stardock refunding purchases is a unique outcome with pc gaming especially if they've been banned from the official forums.

s1foo your an idiot, flame wars are lots of insults thrown at each other. not flames of war -_- idiot.

-on topic: yeah you shouldn't ban anyone but from the forums, banning the account altogether should be only if the cheated or if they violated the rules of conduct. Which demanding a refund is not a bannable thing on forums either. only on the actual account.

Who the what now?  Latest ban?  As in it happened multiple times?

You think, I dunno, that maybe there's a good reason for it?
