I-League conquering the galaxy resulting in human victory?

The Leauge of Independent Worlds somehow gained the upper hand in this recent game I played, and ended up eventually conquering every other major race in the galaxy... Oddly enough, this resulted in a Military victory for myself, even though I would not have stood the slightest chance of defeating that huge hegemonic empire. And what the heck is a "League of Independent worlds" doing conquering the galaxy, anyway? :p

Well, the Military victory occurs when no other major empire exists. Oddly enough, the I-League doesn't count as a major empire (notice the inability to spy or destablize them because they're a minor civ).

They're trying to make other worlds "independent" of their rulers. Sort of like a certain country in the real world *coughcoughUScoughcough*. ;)

That can even happin if that evil influence event hits one of the AIs and happins to leave you till last. I took that win, I need all the help I can get!
