Cool....do you also paint ....with real paint?

You have inspired me to go and have a little computer paint and maybe I'll come back a little later with a picture for you!

Okay....did you enjoy it? I stick with acrylic myself..........what sort of things did you paint.....landscapes ? .....Portraits...?
I'm just entering the world of landscapes after a lifetime of portraiture.

I was trying to stick a picture I did on Art Rage on here but I can't get it over.........Oh well... Will try another time!!

I enjoyed it... the broad washes getting down to the fine details.... and I did landscapes... because you could more easily fix the accidents....

Not bad, not bad... and you?

I have been trying to paste a picture over here to show you but to no avail....just can't seem to wrangle it....though all have been trying to do is copy and paste.....can you help me out?!

To post a picture in a thread, you need to be able to put it up on a server, and then put the URL of that picture into the pop-up box you get when you hit the Image button at the top of the reply box... between the U for underline and the Link Button.

Are you still painting these days...?

I do a little bit of it yeah... not as much as I'd like to though

Historyishere,

I am really well...hope you are the same!?

Didn't seem to work out there with the picture.....I'll have to try again..

I find painting to be a good bit of meditative therapy....how about yourself?
I'm lucky I get a good chance to find the time to paint...

Oh my god it actually worked........Well, historyishere, this is what I did using ArtRage the other day after you inspired me to do so....
I love painting and usually have a spot outsid where I set up ....but it's nice to have a alternative when it's raining ourside and I don't feel like making a huge mess everywhere...
Gotta Go....!!

Who makes ArtRage? I've been using Procreate Painter 7 myself....

And have you posted that piece of art on your own blog as well... as this column isn't getting the kind of exposure your work deserves...

Historyishere,

Seems like my picture is gone...I can just see the frame with the red cross....??

Ambient Designs Ltd....I think...?? What's Procreate Painter 7 like? Art Rage is quite amazing.....you have oil paint....spatula....crayon...pencil....eraser.....chalk...texta...you can choose the texture and colour of your canvas.......the size of your brush....crayon...pencil..etc......and it is all so realistic..theres also a glass of water to rinse your paint brush........I love it!!

No, I haven't put it up on my blog.........I haven't really thought about it....

Have you got any more paintings you can show us??
I'll see what I can rustle up myself......

Oh, I didn't know it was also a freeware... that is a mighty fine looking program for freeware...

Painter is... well, huge... it never ceases to amaze me.... because I am always finding something new.... but I think that in watercolor, it really excels. But it costs a bit of money too(I picked it up at a university sale for about 20% of its original retail price now that Painter 8 is out)... I mean, it has so many tools... and you have a lot of control over your brush, not just in size, but pressure, shape and a whole variety of other subtle and not so subtle effects.

Here is a review of it:

I don't know what I'm doing wrong.....
Sorry for taking up so much space!! I will check out the site for your Paint program......

That is a nice painting Crusaders.

I dug into the code to pull out the address and I notice it looks like you are getting a double of the img tags... that would explain why a "> is left after the pictures with the red x's....

Thankyou Historyishere.......

I'm getting a double of the what now?! What should I do so I don't get a double of the img tags (what is and img tag?)

I only know what has served me so far with computers and there is a lot I have to learn!
Have you just been putting the url of the img into the pop-up box, or are you putting " "'s in it too?

This is exactly what I am putting in the Image box.....">

Hmmm...it worked....

I also pasted the URL on the page so you could see exactly what I was using and I guess that came up as the box with the red X...?

Thanks for being patient with me....I'm still feeling my way around the computer...haven't got the hang of everything yet!

well, I've just had time to get used to everything... it was slow going for me when I first started on forums as well...
