Ok guys, to answer your questions:

Yes, Novocastrian stands for newcastle upon tyne. I'm half french half italian but live in the UK and also a big fan of NUFC, so I have to balance my passion for europe with my passion for the team. So here is the deal: I'll change the empire's name to European Alliance (or something else, we'll need a vote) once more people join.

Forget about the UN: our mission is precisely to create a bipolar system, s the rule of international lore obviously is not being respected.

The idea of a website is also quite cool. By the way, I have seen a few Belgian and Portuguese empires in the metaverse....l'union fait la force.

I have webpage at my university we could use for the page.. but cant do anything fancy like perl etc.. cant set permissions for folders bleh :( If that was greek for you than all the better hehe.

I also got webroom, +/- 45MB and I don't know the fancy stuff either, but got a decent basic knowledge.

I don't know if the score wil submit, but it should. After all it is something they released, beta or not the score should be registered.

On a side note, I got email today from someone of the European Alliance but my inbox filter is set to exclusive, so could you guys/girls please put 'GalCiv' or something in the topic so I can easily pick out the worth reading ones from all the other crap :)

Finished another game with +2k score, research victory gives much more than military, strange :-)
As i see, we have a good quality players here, that is good.

We are very, very strong second now, and advancing steadily to the #1 position. I'm working on several hugh galaxies, probably at the end of this month I can finish a couple. Welcome to all newcomers! :CONGRAT:

I have just joined the European Alliance (adding a meager 180 points but I'm almost done with another game on "Challenging"). I'm living in the US right now, but I'm French and will go back to France (Grenoble) in a few months.

Give up this unholy union how can Brits and French work together. I can understand Belgiums and French (or German) since Belgium has no soul. Why give up your souls and identities to join this monotone blah union. France does not need the rest of Europe to be great, nor does Britain or Germany or Sweden or any of you. Have pride in you nationality or you shall soon lose it. You will all be speaking German at this rate. ;)

The links work fine, I'll see if I can do some work on tables and such for the site. Maybe a collection of hints and tips as well...

I don't have any PHP skills for setting up a forum and my webspace probably doesn't allow me to run a forum anyway :( What's the limits on the site you put up, can we run scripts etc?

Logged another victory btw - Empire score is now 95855.8. I had to step down from Crippling/Gigantic to Tough/Medium in order to re-learn the game, 1.04 is a bit harder than 1.02 LOL but the starbase maintenance change didn't really affect things much IMHO.

I know you are from Belgium G-Force we've covered this base before. That is why I mententioned it. You see Belgiums culture is dominated by either France or Germany, is it not?? Why not make a statement and form your own Empire. Give yourself and your fellow Belgiums and identity.

The history of Belgium has a rich cultural part. Were were ruled by the Spanish, French, Dutch and Oostenrijk (don't know English name) And from all these cultures we have made our own (dumped all the crap one could say).

Just because we have 3 national languages: dutch, french and german doesn't mean that are culture is dominated by it.

Why not start my own Empire? Because I believe in an united Europe. Belgium has played a leading role in the formation of the EU. And besides, there's noway I would get it to the top of the Metaverse ;)

All nations in Europe are linked culturally, we influence each other like we was influenced by ancient Rome and crusades in the past. And that is not bad.

As a Swedish citizen who is living and working in Scotland with ***no need*** for visas, work permits etc and automatically getting electoral rights in Scottish elections I've experienced the benefits of union. Go EU!

As I said in another thread, I do have some dark thoughts about the whole point of having a European Alliance Empire: you might as well join the Northern Hemisphere Empire or the All Other Countries in The World Other Than the USA Empire.
And think about it: is it really a French conspiracy- you know, like, today Galciv and tomorrow The World Other Than the USA? Hmmm. :notsure:

The European Union is a (economical and social) reality. Why trying to blame people who have shared so many things (good ones and bad ones) accross the centuries to group together for fun in a galactical conquest game? (or is it because this scares you?)

The USA got their flag first on the moon; we will get ours first on Alpha Centauri! LOL
