Perfect Playlist

Question for all the GavCiv fans, whats your perfect playlist? I, myself, like to go with a space theme; I have:

2001: A Space Oddessy
Godsmack, Moonbabies
David Bowie, Ground control to Major Tom
Billy Thorpe, Children of the Sun

but of course thats not enough to not get sickeningly repetitive. So I usually throw in some Metallica, Disturbed, or what ever new stuff I find (Sugercult, Bowling For Soup, Theory Of A Deadman, Queens Of The Stone Age, etc.).

So lets hear yours.

Actually, I haven't tired of the game's soundtrack yet. Which is saying a lot.

One question: when you turn "evil", and the interface changes, the music also changes, to a darker, more ominous theme. But I don't remember a "good" music - that is, from my memory, the music when you turn "good" is the same as the "neutral" one.

I may be wrong, though - I haven't got to "good" in the last 3 games.

LOL , I also have Major Tom in my playlist, along with Elton John's Rocket Man, and Peter Schilling's Coming Home, sort of the sequal to Major Tom. For the instrumentals I have the orchestral themes to: Battlestar Galactica, Voyager, Babylon 5, Deep Space 9 (love that one!), ST:TNG, Star Wars main theme, Star Wars Battle Theme, Star Wars(ESB)Imperial Death March, ST3: Wrath of Khan Battle Theme, Plus the game's main theme and the stock game mp3s (space00-05). I think there's some other stuff in there to but I forget right now. Got all the tunes from Kazaa in one evening. If anyone else would share the tunes they find work with this game let us know! That's alot of music but when you play GalCiv for 12 straight hours, even that much gets tired after a while! :)

if you guys are looking for space based music, try anything, I mean absolutely anything from HAWKWIND--the primo space rock band.

I'd be listening to them myself, but I still haven't figured out how to get the mp3 player to work during the game. (:(

I'm not in front of the game right now - but I think you put the MP3s in the playlist directory, and then in the options menu select use custom playlist -> ON. It will build a playlist file of whatever you have in the playlist directory and it should work fine. I'll look for some hawkwind stuff when I get home from work :)

If you like playing evil races, then Patrick O'Hearn's "Indigo" album is the perfect accompaniment - it's very dark and intense (New Age) - good stuff!

Habadacus definitely has me beat on the space-themed songs. But thanks for giving me all those good ones, I gotta get Star Wars Imperial March.

Yeah - it's always a gas when I'm moving my fleets in for the kill when the Imperial Death March comes on! :)

I haven't made a space themed playlist. One of the playlists i usually listen to is all industrial stuff, Rob Zombie, VNV Nation, Razed in Black, Systen Syn, Battery, etc. The other playlist is all Heather Alexander (a folk/filk artist for those who don't know her)

Unfortunatly i need to do that by using winamp in the backround. When i tried to load the playlists in the game, it just cycled through all the song titles in the window very quickly without actually playing anything.

Thirded, Mars is the ultimate music for a tense, apprehensive war.

You need the bonus pack, Gman. Then it's on the in-game options screen (press ESC).

Has anyone ever heard or remember the theme from the UK show "UFO" from 1970?

That's a kick ass theme song!
