Joe U Book Club?

After seeing what other bloggers have been reading, I've been wondering if anyone else would be interested in forming a JoeU book club/literary circle.

We could all take turns in choosing a book to read...and instead of offering up a single selection, the person who's turn it is could offer a choice of 2 or more books and we could have a vote.  That way we'd maybe bypass issues of people not being able to get their hands on copies of the books etc.

The books wouldn't have to come from the latest releases, we could read classics or books that have been around for a couple of years.

I know I'd like to do it; it would be a good cerebral exercise and I'd love to get someone elses point of view on what I'm reading!

If you're interested, please leave me a response...and I'm open to suggestions on how to enhance the reading exerience!

Oh, and this isn't a strictly girly book club either, so all you dudes that are interested are more than welcome to get involved!

You already know my thoughts - I'm in the process I writing a blog about all the books I've read in the last 6months (it's hard I can't remember some of the titles but I can the storylines)

Thats the mark of a good book, I think, Trina...that the plot is so good the title becomes insignificant.

Ok, this is what I'd like:  I want everyone to give me a list of 3 or 4 books they'd like to read as a group and discuss, and we'll take a vote from there as to which one to start with.


I'm so excited about this!  It'll give me a chance to verbalize my ideas about what I'm reading, and also to get a totally different perspective from someone else.

With three kids, it's been hard to read for the past few years, but I have decided to make time, so you guys will probably have better choices than me as well.

I have 3 kids as well, Kayles, and I've been doing it alone for a year whilst my husband's gone.  I, however, have the luxury of not having to work outside the home, so after the chores are done I get to read. 


I'll compose a 'TBR' blog next week and we'll take a vote on who wants to read what to start with.

I never heard of that one, I'll have to go look it up....as for books for purchase, I find Ebay or Amazon.com good for used books.
