Nurturing Friendships

I read one of Nicky’s recent blog Link that made me realize one thing. How much I miss socializing with friends. It’s nice to be around people physically sometimes. It’s nice to have someone you can just hang with and not fear reprisals, jealousy and any negativity that would happen if you were with some other people.
It’s so important to nurture friendships. I do it from afar, nurture friendships, but there or times when I wish I could do it up close and personal, the way I used to. It’s not nice when you move far away from those you love. Sometimes you even end up losing some of the people you thought were your buds.
I don’t have a hang out spot where I am now. I do wish I did though. I do realize one thing, it’s no ones fault but my own. It’s not like I haven’t had opportunities to go hang out. I’ve been busy with my family and other personal stuff. I have relationships at work that have turned into socialized event outside of work and that’s nice, sometimes. But they’re not hanging out buddies.
I do however realize one thing though; my mindset leans more towards other things than just hanging out, thus I don’t crave it as often. And there are times when I get a little shy and will not go out on my own, even when the opportunity presents itself. And the number one drawback, I feel naked without a buddy by my side to deflect the boredom or anything else that might flair up. This also depends on whether this person will want to have fun or be a wet blanket!
Yep, it’s no fun to hang out on your own. There’s just so much you can do with the kids and when hubby doesn’t’ often share the same interests; it can get down right boring.
Well, I guess I’ll have to do something about that soon. Otherwise I might have to go all the way to NY or Jamaica just to go hang out! LOL! Now that would be fantastic to do!
