Waterfall Pictures

Niagara III

We paid $10 each and went up into the Skylon tower observation level.  It is 525 ft high and has a restaurant on top with the observation deck above that.  At night the top of the tower spins so the diners can get alternate views of the falls (they are lit with diff colored lights at night, no pics, they didn't turn out) and view the city lights.  There is a $36 minimum per person for supper but lunch is cheaper.  If you're a tourist you can get away with casual dress but most people dress well...ladies in little black dresses, men in ties.

Niagara is about 79,000 people so its not big and you can see almost all of it from the Skylon.

A side note...the falls once stood ten feet deep at the rim, but due to diversion from America and Canada it now only stands two feet deep at the rim.  I can't imagine how far the spray would burst off the rim at ten feet deep, just with two feet it was amazing.....and loud.

The falls from the tower.

Some city shots from Skylon...

Down by the falls on ground level....

This is the bulk of my falls shots....they start to look alike after the first few, heh.  I will post the Botanical Garden shots, Fun Street, and the little town of Niagara on the Falls (about 18 clicks away) in the following articles.

Hope you enjoy them.

HAHAHAHA.  Well it gets right up on the falls.  We didn't do it because it was cold and raining most of the time we were there and the falls "fog" was so thick.

These are great pictures. The Skylon looks a little like the Space Needle!

Yeah, but not as high. That is a good question...which came first the skylon or the space needle? heh.

great pics Tova. Really nice.

I also remember going up in that Skylon tower. Makes me want to go back and check it out again. Only this time, I think I'd do the boat thing.

Glad to see you and Amanda hooked up again. Have fun. Seven weeks and we'll all be crashing in. We should all get together and do something fun!!

I'm up for it as long as my hubby is home...when he's gone the only fun things I do are kid related.  But I hope to find a decent babysitter in the next few weeks.  ~Crosses fingers~

Thanks forever.  That is what I was going for.  The only ones left are the botanical gardens and fun street and I will post them but not for a few days....hubby gets home tonight and we have a busy weekend.

I saw pictures of it in winter with the big ice flows....looked cold, but I imagine there aren't too many lines in the winter!heh.
