Loving the game so far. Looks beautiful, runs great. A little disappointed with the lack of innovation in how ships and structures react to damage though. It seems like they've just rehashed the old system of attaching a particle effect to a ship as it gets damaged.
I had really hoped to see much more dynamic responses during combat. Individual parts destroyed, textures updating as the ship loses health, pieces coming off, etc. In my opinion, combat would be improved immeasurably if every hit actually looked like it was damaging the hull of a ship, and not just despawning as it collides.
