Blah blah blah.  The storyline's always the same:  it's always, "these factions are at war with each other, but there are splinters in the faction so sometimes they're fighting themselves, and the splintered factions are allying with the other splintered factions for XYZ reasons." The game dictates that players can select whatever faction they want, ally with any other faction they want, and kill any faction they want--even their own.  They just dream up some creative storyline to try & explain that; which usually makes for a bit of a lame story.  It's the most painfully obvious in the CnC3 campaign.

well i have never played multiplayer before but i can say that advent are one of the best races in the late game but strike craft dont make a fleet. I've found that about 80-120 anti-Strike craft unit can decimate even the largest carrier group while heavy cruisers and long range frigates decimate the enemy fleet.

It's well and good saying that one race can have the best fleet combo that rapes all others, but if in the game you lack the resources to build such a fleet, maintain it and replace losses the its just a pipe dream

TEC are the real winners simply because they have the economic strength for a long-haul fight and its easier for players to grasp the superior economy the TEC allows

that is true, which is why playing as TEC can be a careful balancing act early-game, where you have to expand in five or six directions at once and you lack the resources to do them all. Can get a bit hairy when the enemy turn up

BUT once the economy is there, ir pretty much becomes a matter of time before your waving the victory banners

Exactly, which is why the game is so great, because it does a pretty good job of making it up to the player to decide which is the best race, for THEM, depending on their perspectives

people just like to talk smack. i dont know why but the internet always makes people bitter and egotistical.

I'm a big fan of the Advent, their ships work really well together and the anima are great for defending planets and taking out starbases, the deliverance engine is also great for wreaking economies when used in multitude

Pbhead, you're too arrogant.  Every strategy has a counter.  In this case, simply build Flak and LF, and you lose.  If you rush with only one carrier, I mass produce LF, build a Kol, and take Flak Burst, and you lose.  Even with Vasari i would only need build a Kortul, energy surge, sentinals and Skirms, and it is quite possible you would lose.  THere is no be all-end all way to beat an opponent.  You're just applying what you've read here and counting on everyone else to believe it too.  If you really want to see how wrong you are, there's a post by Amish, i think, that will set you straight.  It's about the competency of the player, not the race you choose.  Your only saving grace would be a fleet of 12+ Guardians, in which case, a larger fleet is needed to counter, but still can be countered.

Note-  I say build Flak, because they will eat your scouts alive, and do some damage to your other ships as well.  If i think i have time, LRFs will se action as well.

And there is also a counter for the fleets i described, and a counter for that counter, until the winner is decided not by ships, but how they use them.

Except. I have tested. it doesnt work. seeker and disciple spam beat flack and lf.... both in battle and in resource cost.... and seeker and disciple spam dont require research.  I had 2 computers lanned... I would play myself and try to find some way... and the only way I have found is: starbase (easy to bypass) and HCs (by the time you have researched this your dead)  I have played against people who use this stratigy. Every time a team mate or I go up agaist it... defeat happens. 2 of the best players in the game were barely able to keep this stratigy from running them over.  I read the post by amish.

People have this stratigy down to the point where the second the game starts I can tell my teammate what he is up against... and he still got crushed... with help. and feed.

You think you can beat it? pm me. send a time... or even better... find some of the players that have mastered it.

As i said before... barring a lopsided map... or you doing the exact same thing... you will lose.

PB Spam is NOT A STRATEGY. for the love of god, if your too narrowminded to realize if you cant utilize a balanced fleet and actually use it tactically and strategically. Then you have no skill. Spamming takes no effort, or brainpower. Its nothing more then using brute force. Using Spam doesnt reflect kindly on the player that does it. Infact it makes you look pathetic that you had to overcompensate with mass numbers of ships that werent built for such a mindless attempt to win. It says you fear going longer then 20 minutes into the game because you dont really know what your doing. It says that you are uncomfortable building a fleet (an actual fleet with mixed escort/support) and utilizing it.
