This may be the dumbest thing on Earth, but I hate the Save/Load system. I don't have ToA or anything, so this is probably irrelevant. I just feel like complaining.
Save and Load need to be separate buttons. I can't tell you how many times I've clicked "Load/Save" then double-clicked on my desired save, only to load that game, losing (sometimes) a tremendous amount of progress. At the very least, disallow the double-click, so you will be forced to hit the appropriate button.
I dunno. Now that I think about it, there might already be a setting for this or something. If not, it's probably too dumb to implement since theoretically I have suffered enough to learn my lesson. Now, I click "Quick Save" before I make an attempt at a named save.
Heh, at this point, any complaints I have are incredibly minor.I guess if I had one minor wish, it'd be that ship naming wasn't so flavorless. Seeing as the game considers anything medium size or up a "capital ship", how about letting us put text files with ship names in them for the game to choose from? So instead of getting Leviathan 1,2,3,4... etc, the game will automatically pull a name from TerranShipNames.txt. Sure, we can rename them ourselves, but having a list to pull from is just so much easier.Hardly bashing, sorry.
This reminds me, is there not a way you can save your ship designs, so that you can reuse them in different games? I know I see people saying 'external ship editor,' but that sounds a bit beyond what I want.
You know, you pretty much get some favorite ship configurations once you play a few times, and you even research techs that you know will lead you to a particular ship. I just don't want to have to build
every ship from scratch
every game, especially when I can tell you how I want to configure most of my ships before I even start a game.
